Friends of Stamford Park (FoSP) is an association formed in early 2005. Our members are mostly local individuals who have an interest in the park. Similar groups exist for other parks in Trafford & beyond.
The group is an independent organisation which works with Trafford Borough Council in order to maintain & improve Stamford Park. Its aims include to restore heritage features, to increase both the environmental value & community involvement, to enhance facilities & promote sports in a safe & accessible setting. To help further these aims we are developing links with other local groups & organisations who have an interest in the park.
FoSP does not own or run the park – that is the responsibility of the council. We are a “voice” for park users and wish to involve as many people as possible. In conjunction with the council & other stakeholders we will create a management & improvement plan which will restore Stamford Park back to its former glory while ensuring it has the facilities for the 21st century.
FoSP is self financing. To allow us to keep people informed & to grow we are asking people to become members (“friends”) by paying a small subscription.
If you wish to become a member, click here for a membership application form. Membership only costs £3.00 per household (valid up to 31st March 2008).
Donations are welcome.
Thank you for your interest - and (Hopefully!) support.
Committee – as of 6th July 2006.
