Bug Hotel

Friends of Stamford Park (FoSP) is delighted to announce the opening of ‘Stamford Lodge’, its first bug hotel. Located between the ponds in Stamford Park, it provides a welcome habitat for insects that play a vital role in maintaining healthy ecosystems.

The bug hotel has been funded by FoSP and One Trafford. It was created by the woodworkers at Chapel in the Fields, Dunham and installed by Paul Grainge Garden Maintenance. FoSP decided that a bug hotel would encourage biodiversity by offering shelter for insects such as solitary bees, ladybirds, lacewings, and beetles. These species help pollinate plants, control pests, and contribute to the overall health of the local environment. FoSP thank everyone who contributed their time and expertise to make this possible.

The project reflects FoSP's commitment to helping protect nature. Visitors to the park are encouraged to stop by the bug hotel to learn more about the importance of insects and how small actions can make a positive difference for local wildlife.
