Dog Walking

Dogs are welcome in Stamford Park. They don’t have to be walked on a lead if they’re obedient, but they must be under control. Please make sure they remain within sight and out of the flowerbeds where they can do so much damage.

Owners are required by law to pick up after them and dispose of bagged waste in any of the many bins available.

Penalties for dog fouling are outlined in The Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005. This Act means that it is illegal to fail to clear up after your dog if it fouls any land which is open to the air and to which the public have access.

The penalty for contravening the Act is a £50 Fixed Penalty Notice or prosecution in the magistrates court. For help with dog fouling issues or persistent nuisance please report to Trafford Council – Dog Fouling.
